Scout & Molly's Cherry Hill

You don’t need a new wardrobe — you need the right accessories. Here’s what we’re reaching for right now at Scout & Molly’s in Cherry Hill.

There’s a moment every spring when you look at your closet and think: I have nothing to wear. And then you look closer and realize, you have plenty. What you’re missing are the finishing touches. The pieces that make a simple outfit feel intentional, current, and like you actually tried.

The good news? You don’t need to buy a whole new wardrobe. You need a few well-chosen accessories. At Scout & Molly’s Boutique in Cherry Hill, accessories are one of our favorite things to help customers with, because the right ones genuinely transform what you already own.

Here are five that are doing a lot of work for us this spring.

1. The Woven Bag

If there’s one accessory that screams spring without being too on-the-nose about it, it’s a woven or straw tote. There’s something about the texture, natural, warm, relaxed, that instantly shifts an outfit into the new season.

The best part: it goes with almost everything. Linen trousers and a white top. A midi dress. Your favorite worn-in jeans. A woven bag doesn’t compete with what you’re wearing; it just makes it better.

Look for one with a structured shape, so it holds its form, or go fully slouchy if that’s more your vibe. Either way, it’s one of the easiest spring upgrades there is.

Styling note: Keep jewelry simple when you’re carrying a textured bag. Let the bag be the thing.

2. The Delicate Layered Necklace

Fine jewelry has had a major moment over the past couple of years, and it’s not going anywhere. A layered necklace, two or three delicate chains worn together at slightly different lengths, adds dimension to any neckline without overwhelming the rest of your look.

It’s the kind of accessory that makes people say “I love your necklace” but can’t quite tell why, because it’s subtle enough to feel effortless. That’s exactly the point.

If you’re starting from scratch: one simple chain, one with a small pendant or charm. Done. You can add more over time as you find pieces you love.

Styling note: V-necks and scoop necks show layered necklaces best. Crewnecks work too — just go shorter so they don’t disappear into the fabric.

3. The Lightweight Scarf

Not a winter scarf. Not a beach coverup. A lightweight spring scarf, linen, cotton, or a fine silk blend, is one of the most versatile accessories you can own, and most people underestimate it.

Wear it loosely around your neck on a cool morning. Tie it through the handle of your bag as a pop of color or print. Use it as a headband or a low ponytail wrap. Tuck it into a jacket pocket as a pocket square. The options are genuinely endless.

For spring, reach for something in a warm solid or a soft print, something that plays well with neutrals, since that’s likely what you’re already wearing.

Styling note: A scarf on a bag handle is one of those small details that looks like you put a lot more thought into your outfit than you did. Highly recommend.

4. The Belt

Here’s a styling trick we give to customers all the time: if your outfit feels shapeless, add a belt. That’s it. That’s the whole tip.

A slim belt cinched over a flowy dress, a linen blazer, or a longline top completely changes the silhouette. It creates a waist, gives the outfit structure, and makes it look like you made intentional choices about what you put on.

Spring is the perfect time to revisit belts because so many of the season’s best pieces, the flowy midi, the oversized blouse, the draped cardigan, are exactly the shapes that benefit most from one.

Styling note: Don’t overthink the match. A simple tan or black belt works with almost everything. The point is the silhouette, not the belt itself.

5. The Statement Earring

When in doubt, earrings. Seriously. A bold earring, a sculptural hoop, a long drop, a fun tassel, and an interesting geometric shape can elevate the most basic outfit to something that feels considered and complete.

This is the one place we’d actually encourage you to be playful. Spring is a good season to try a color you wouldn’t normally reach for, or a shape that’s a little more interesting than your everyday studs. It’s just an earring. It’s low stakes. And the payoff is disproportionately high.

Styling note: When the earrings are the statement, let everything else be quiet. Simple top, minimal necklace, the earrings carry the look. That’s the balance.

All five of these are available in-store right now at Scout & Molly’s, 957 Haddonfield Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ. If you’ve been meaning to stop in and see what’s new for spring, this is your sign.
