Scout & Molly’s is completely dedicated to the success of its franchisees; therefore, each franchisee can expect consistent and ongoing support from the corporate office. As part of this support, the following services and training have been developed to assist in all operational aspects of each Scout & Molly’s franchise.
WELCOME
After you’ve signed your franchise agreement, your operations specialist will touch base with you to welcome you to the team. At that time, we will schedule a follow-up meeting to walk you through your welcome packet, pre-opening checklist, and the franchisee resource center, and answer your questions.
SITE SELECTION
Our national team of leading retail site search brokers will review all factors to identify the best possible site for your location.
BUILD OUT
We collectively discuss the location’s design, the store-in-a-box package, franchisee furniture and fixture responsibilities, as well as the general contractor’s responsibilities.
INVENTORY
The Scout & Molly’s buying team travels to regional and national apparel shows (“Markets”) held in different cities across the US. Here, our buyers source the best of the best in women’s clothing lines. With years of fashion buying experience, their established relationships with designers and sales reps across the country provide every boutique with top-selling styles in fashion’s hottest trends.
SUPPLIES
Scout & Molly’s will assist you with all supplies needed for the opening of your store.
ONLINE BUYING PLATFORM
Franchisees are trained and have access to our wholesale marketplace, an online platform that allows selection of the merchandise available in the franchisee’s territory.
HIRING
All franchisees will be trained and provided with the documents necessary for staffing their shop. This will be explored in great detail during training week.
FRANCHISEE TRAINING
When you become a franchisee, training begins immediately. A member of the corporate team will initiate the relationship with a personal phone call to kick start this exciting process. Ongoing training will revolve around each boutique’s build-out, inventory, visual standards, marketing and advertising, and soft and grand openings. The week-long training program at Corporate will introduce new practices in addition to reinforcing policies and procedures. Ongoing field support will begin once the franchisee’s store has opened.
MARKETING AGENCY
The Scout & Molly’s brand works with a dedicated marketing and advertising agency. These media buyers and marketing experts work closely with each franchisee to promote every boutique. As our brand and merchandise continues to evolve in an ever-changing industry, our marketing partners also remain ahead of digital marketing trends to promote brand awareness in your target market and across the country.
STORE OPENING PREP
A corporate representative will come to your store prior to your soft opening to ensure everything is ready to go for your big day.
ONGOING FIELD SUPPORT
Training doesn’t stop on the phone or after training week. The corporate team will be on the road ensuring each store and owner is meeting and exceeding expectations for success.
ACCESS TO MICROSITE & ECOMMERCE
Our corporate website, www.scoutandmollys.com provides extensive information about the company. Each franchisee’s location is featured on this website, and its geo-tagging functionality allows customers to find a boutique in a specific area. The website also serves as a tremendous marketing tool featuring the latest brands and fashion trends, timely blogs and social media posts.
RESOURCE CENTER
Scout & Molly’s corporate has created a password-protected Resource Center for franchisees to access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This online portal provides forms, documents, branded material, supplies, videos, social media images, marketing resources, and more. A forum to ask questions and share ideas and best practices with fellow owners and/or the corporate team is also available.

Do you have an eye for fashion? Scout & Molly’s provides the opportunity to combine your passion for fashion and entrepreneurship in an excellent franchise opportunity! A few frequently asked question are:
- What investment is required? The total estimated single unit Investment is $293,000 to $382,000.. Your investment covers costs for the initial set up, inventory, furniture, fixtures, equipment, technology, and more.
- What ongoing fees are required?
You will pay a continuing monthly Royalty Fee during the Term equal to 7% of gross revenue. The fee for the Brand Development Fund is 1% of gross revenue to cover franchisee growth and development. - What Return on Investment (ROI) can I expect?Actual results vary from location to location and we cannot estimate the results of any particular franchise. We encourage you to review Item 19 of our Franchise Disclosure Document for additional information on the Financial Performance Representation. When you investigate a Scout & Molly’s franchise, you will be provided with the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
- How quickly can I expect my return on investment to begin?On average, it will take 6-9 months from the time you are awarded a Scout & Molly’s license to the time you open. In most cases, how well you follow the Scout & Molly’s grand opening plan, ongoing marketing strategy, and franchise system processes, determines how quickly you achieve your desired ROI.
- How many employees do I need?
You can start with 3 to 4 part-time associates along with one full-time manager. - What type of facility do I need?
You will need approximately 1,000 – 1,200 square feet located in a high traffic, high visibility Class A shopping center or mall. This square footage will allow for adequate room for clothing and accessory displays, dressing rooms, and a small storage area. - How long has Scout & Molly’s been in business?
Scout & Molly’s has been a popular boutique destination in the Raleigh, NC market since Spring 2002. Scout & Molly’s started franchising in 2014. The Scout & Molly’s brand was fresh and people quickly caught on. Local residents and fashion enthusiasts joined Sonya Martin, owner of Scout & Molly’s Myrtle Beach, along with State Senator Luke Rankin, State Representative Case Brittain, City of Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune, and Shannon Furtick from the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce & CVB, for the ceremonial ribbon cutting. Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed refreshments, exclusive promotions, and the chance to win exciting prizes.

Scout & Molly’s Boutique, a national store brand for ladies’ shopping, is opening a new location in Myrtle Beach in 2024. The Grand Strand site is the second South Carolina store, the other in Columbia, S.C
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and time once again for the annual Reston, VA Runway to the Cure event. The event was founded in 2017 by Jane Abraham, Owner of Scout & Molly’s Boutique, as a way to merge her passion for raising funds for breast cancer research and local patient and family assistance programs for those currently dealing with the disease. The event features breast cancer warriors as runway models wearing fashions and accessories from Scout & Molly’s and other vendors.
The first Runway to the Cure coincided with the opening of Jane’s Scout & Molly’s Boutique in Reston Town Center and she recognized an opportunity to bring the community and local merchants together for a common cause.
The outpouring of community support in 2017 was amazing and led to the launching of a non-profit organization that st ages the event annually, guided by a Board of passionate activist women from the community.

This week marked the 12th annual Chiefs Style Lounge – a glamorous night showcasing the best in Kansas City game day style while simultaneously celebrating local women-owned businesses and community.

Mary Titgen knew there wouldn’t be a stampede of shoppers waiting in May when she flung open the doors of the Scout & Molly’s women’s boutique in Waverly after eight weeks of being closed due to Covid, and she was right.
“I came in with very low expectations. I was kind of like, ‘can we do $10,000 (in sales in the entire month)?’ May, June and July were about the same,” Titgen said.
But then, the real whammy: August, which always brings a huge boost to the 3-year-old franchise store with women from nearby Longview and Providence Country Clubs stopping in to shop once their kids are back in school, was a total bust because of online learning and canceled country club events. The shoppers they did get seemed to be in a funk.
RICHMOND, Va. — Erin Ackerman and Kristine Hubbard own and operate Scout & Molly’s Boutique on River Road in Richmond. While the non-essential store is closed to shoppers coming into the building, the business owners told Eat It, Virginia! co-host Robey Martin about their plan to reopen and how they’re using social media to stayed connected to customers.

What do you like best about Scout & Molly’s?
Carol – My favorite part is our fashion and accessories and meeting the new people that come in.
Sarah – I love helping to style each customer with their individual look. I want them to feel good in what they have purchased. I want to develop a relationship with them so they know I am here to help with any of their fashion needs. I also love buying fashion for the store.
Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Pesche.
Rebecca, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been a Deerfield resident for eight years, working as a residential real estate broker and raising three kids with my husband. I came across a Scout & Molly’s store while visiting Ohio and I couldn’t help but think that Deerfield could use a great little boutique like this. The more I thought about it, the more I thought – why not me? A short but hectic year later, Scout & Molly’s Deerfield Square opened its doors.
After a successful career in corporate America, Emily Rhodin has embarked on her dream of owning her own business. As the owner of two Scout & Molly’s boutiques – including the newly opened location in Sawgrass Village – she has traded the staid world of accounting for the flair of the fashion world. She lives in Ponte Vedra with her husband, Patrick, kids Ella and Noah, and their three cats and three dogs.
