5 Easy Steps for a New Year, New You

Joseph Ribkoff Spring Collection

In celebration of the New Year, many people often create a list of resolutions that they very rarely (if ever) keep. One reason for this is because they usually aren’t actually ready to make any significant changes, it’s just more out of tradition or habit than it is anything else. Another common reason is that these resolutions are often times too strict or strenuous.

That’s why here at Scout and Molly’s, we wanted to offer a compromise in the way of what kind of “resolutions” you decide on this year. Instead of focusing so much on specific tasks or goals such as maintaining a ridiculous diet and gym routine or saving “X” amount of money for retirement, why not focus on the spirit of making a resolution in the first place; feeling better by improving yourself?

With that in mind, here are five reasonable and attainable goals, all which make you feel healthier, more productive, or more engaged in one way or another:

Develop a New Healthy Habit:

  • Exercise
  • Better nutrition
  • Daily walk
  • Drink more water
  • Take vitamins

Buy a New Outfit:
When a person is dressed in a manner that makes them comfortable or which conveys the type of impression they wish to send through style and appearance, they tend to be much more at ease and relaxed in day to day life.

Learn a New Skill:
This is something that always has value, no matter if you ever use it or not.

Start Your Day 30 Minutes Earlier:
It doesn’t matter if you succeed every day. Only that you try most days and succeed some days.

Join a Group:
It can be a social group, activity group, support group, or any type of shared interest group. But being in even one can be incredibly helpful.
