I’ve always wanted to have my own business and a couple of years ago, the opportunity became available to start researching into possible options. I looked into franchises because I felt they offer the infrastructure and support needed to get a small business off the ground with expertise necessary to succeed, but still flexible enough where you can still make it your own. I’ve worked in fashion, women’s retail while in high school and through my college years, working my way to assistant store manager. I really wanted to direct my path back to retail after all these years working in corporate America. Finding Scout and Molly’s was meant to be – not only was it a women’s retail boutique that carried brands I love, and that it was named after two dogs (I love animals and have two fur babies – Yorkies!), but the best part is a woman founded and owned the business originally! I found this so empowering, inspiring and felt a connection!
I love the area because I use to work for a company in this area and would frequently have lunch at this shopping center. I love that there are different stores offering a variety of services within one location. There is a Spa, Restaurants, shoes and other women’s boutiques and felt there is a good synergy with my store being at this location.
We love our customers like family and are thankful for them every day. We get to meet new people every day and have repeat customers and will catch up on how their family is doing. We are building roots in the community and love how we have expanded our family.
I love a lot of our brands but Fifteen Twenty, Scotch and Soda, Adelyn Rae, Black Orchid, Cupcakes and Cashmere, Joe’s Jeans are a few of my favorites.
Being raised by immigrant parents and seeing the struggle they’ve gone through to try to make it have driven me to always work hard and be the best you can, in business, relationships and most importantly as a person and I try to convey that feeling in my store. Customers who come in my store always comment about how warm and comfortable the environment is. I believe if you show good intentions, treat people like family, they will trust you and become loyal customers. We have repeat customers who have made our store their fashion destination and will not shop anywhere else. We always catch up on what is happening in their lives while they are shopping and enjoying a glass of wine. We love our customers like family and are thankful for them every day.
