5 Color Trends & How to Wear Them

Fall is upon us and along with the changing of the season is the shift in temperature and the colors all around us. As the leaves morph into beautiful hues of gold, browns, and burgundies, we’re loving finding ways to mirror our surroundings with our wardrobes and want to help you do the same! Here at Scout & Molly’s Boutique Southlake we’ve put together a style guide for you and have options for every possible autumn color you won’t be able to wait to throw on!

First on our list: unique greens. As the last few sprigs of spring shine through, we’ve found inspiration in their tenacity. These hues are a great addition to the browns, tans, and blues you already have in your closet. A bright pop on a blouse can make an entirely new look from pieces you’ve had for years!

Next up is nude. Neutrals are the new black, and there are so many shades to mix and match seamlessly for a minimalistic look that will turn heads in the office, at the grocery store, or even just on your walk around the neighborhood.

Throw in some brown and you’ll be a star this fall. Browns are softer and cozier than traditional black and are a fun way to spice up your wardrobe. Try a pair of deep chocolate leather boots or a warm tan shearling coat to top your favorite fit and make it feel more hip and modern.

Yellow is a color we often associate with summer and spring, but think again. Warm tones in this color scheme will go perfectly with all of these fall colors, making your outfit warm and buttery. Deep mustards and bright marigolds will compliment warm and neutral tones, and can be carried over year round.

Finally, one of our favorites. Do yourself a favor and invest in some burgundy. Think glass of red wine on a cool autumn evening, but in a sweater! These colors range from reds to purples with hues of blue that will look flawless with a plaid skirt or satin midi skirt!
